Williams Offers Great Opportunities.
Spend Some Time In The Williams & Grand Canyon Area Long heralded, as the Gateway to the Grand Canyon®, Williams is 59 miles from the South Rim. Make the City of Williams/Kaibab National Forest Visitor Center your first stop to plan your trip north to the Canyon and see what other adventures await you in Williams. Boasting seven area fishing lakes, hiking trails up Bill Williams Mountain and into Sycamore Canyon, an alpine ski/snowplay area, cross country skiing, a championship 18-hole golf course, newly renovated H. A. Clark Memorial Field (P32), four-season weather and an abundance of wildlife, Williams offers unlimited recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Steeped in heritage, our quaint downtown has many edifices erected in the early 1900s housing restaurants, bistros, restaurants and gift shops with a variety of wares including Native American jewelry, antiques, Western and Route 66 memorabilia. In 1984, the downtown business district was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Route 66 Inn is centrally located in the Williams Historic District, with an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and galleries. Spend a day or two enjoying all that our small mountain village has to offer!
